I’ve always suspected this, especially from the left or those who are simply just uninformed about the issues.
Examples from politics about the cause to join in ignorance:
Obama: Of course he has die hard supporters who know who he is, what he believes and agree with him but from my experience there are just as many who support him because others support him.
Ron Paul: From my observations of the young internet community- they are mostly left wing yet groups all came together to support Ron Paul – a Republican Libertarain.
Kevin Rudd: the slogan Kevin07 was made popular by ignorant first time voters. I was heavily involved in this election and when interviewing the countless newly found die hard ALP supporters about policy and beliefs they didn’t have a clue.
